    Where I stand
While I am certainly a career public servant, I am not a career politician.  I owe nothing to any special interest, and therefore my beliefs are my own.  They are the beliefs I've learned through 55 years of living with you here in Northern Kentucky.

Education

For decades, Frankfort politicians have talked about reforming Kentucky's public education system, but our children are still not receiving the quality education they deserve.  It's time to show real leadership by proposing much needed education reform and by supporting the teachers who dedicate their lives to making a difference for our children by paying them what they're worth and giving them the tools they need.

Economy & Jobs

Only through education reform will long-term economic prosperity be possible.  However, we must also transition Kentucky into a modern marketplace.   We must encourage investment in sustainable energy sources and new markets that provide good jobs and a living wage for Kentuckians.  That is why I fully support Governor Beshear's plan to allow Kentuckians to vote on the status of gaming.

Health Care

No issue is of greater concern than the skyrocketing cost of health care.  Everyday, Kentuckians are faced with choosing between the medication they need to survive and every day staples such as food and gasoline.  This is immoral.  While there is no easy answer, we must address the real issues of health care rather than chasing phantoms.
